 Remembrance and Reconciliation

11th November 2018

Canterbury Cathedral

What an incredible evening!

The collaboration of four choirs, German and English, and musicians performing Adrian’s Remembrance & Reconciliation on 11th November 2018, 100 years after the armistice of WW1, Under an Equal Sky at Canterbury Cathedral, was a triumph.

The musicians were tremendous, the beautiful voices of the choristers added a magical dimension, as did the haunting sounds of the trumpets and chiming bells.

A full house of c.650 erupted in a standing ovation at the end, and choir members hugged and cried with emotion. An overwhelming experience.

Thank you Adrian for making your dream become a reality, taking us with you on the journey, and for the lasting memories.  We will Remember.

Presenting choral music in the English tradition since 1979

Cantores is a friendly choir, based in Lyminge, Kent

We rehearse weekly and produce four concerts each year.

Originally a small family affair, we have grown and developed into a hard-working ambitious choir, which is popular in the local areas.

Our Musical Director is Adrian Bawtree. For the next 12 months Adrian will also hold the post of Interim Director of Music at Rochester Cathedral.

We now have over 50 members. There is a short waiting list at times for some voices - we do not hold auditions.

If you are considering joining a choir, then we hope you will find singing with Cantores a very rewarding and enjoyable experience.
